Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the X Follower Remover browser extension (“Extension,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you install and use it. The Extension helps logged-in X (x.com) users remove followers from a list they provide.
1. Information we process
Depending on how you use the Extension, the following information may be processed:
- Your X account handle — detected from an open, logged-in X tab when you claim or use that tab.
- Queue data you provide — usernames and optional CSV fields (for example display name, follower/following counts) that you load into the Extension.
- Activity log — timestamps and results of removal attempts you run (success, skipped, error).
- Extension settings — cooldown delay, jitter, pause state, automate/unfollow preferences, and controlled tab reference.
- Usage limits — local counters for free-tier removal limits and optional unfollow rate limits.
- Subscription status — whether your account is treated as Pro, determined locally from your X creator-subscription status or built-in owner-account rules. This status is cached in browser storage.
- X session data — when checking Pro status, the Extension may read cookies and make authenticated requests to X from your browser to determine whether you subscribe to @d2fl on X. This happens only in your browser; we do not receive a copy on our servers.
2. Where data is stored
Almost all Extension data is stored locally on your device using Chrome storage APIs:
- chrome.storage.local — queue, settings, activity log, usage counters, subscription cache, and per-account state. This persists until you clear it, uninstall the Extension, or use the Extension’s clear/stop controls.
- chrome.storage.session — short-lived runtime flags while a session is active (for example manual mode or automation state). Cleared when the browser session ends.
We do not operate a central database that receives your queue, log, or X credentials.
3. How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- Run the follower-removal workflow you start
- Save progress so you can pause, resume, or continue after restarting Chrome
- Enforce free-tier and safety limits you see in the Extension
- Determine whether your account qualifies for Pro (unlimited removals)
- Display status in the Extension popup and Control Panel
4. Network activity and third parties
The Extension communicates with:
- X (x.com / twitter.com) — to open profiles, perform remove/unfollow actions you initiate, and verify creator-subscription status using your existing logged-in session.
The Extension does not send your queue, CSV contents, or activity log to d2fl servers as part of normal operation.
If you click Subscribe @d2fl for unlimited, you are taken to X’s website. X’s own privacy policy and terms apply on their site. We are not affiliated with X Corp.
5. Permissions explained
- storage — save your queue, settings, and progress locally.
- tabs — open and focus the X tab used for removals and the Control Panel.
- scripting — run page actions on X only when you start or resume a session.
- activeTab — interact with the X tab you are using.
- cookies — read X session cookies in the Extension context so subscription checks against X can use your existing login.
- Host access to x.com / twitter.com — required for all Extension functionality on X.
6. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your queue or logs with third parties for marketing purposes. Information stays in your browser unless you choose to export a CSV from the Control Panel.
7. Data retention and deletion
You can delete Extension data by:
- Using Stop & Clear in the Control Panel
- Clearing the activity log from the Control Panel
- Removing the Extension from Chrome, which deletes locally stored Extension data associated with it
Session storage is cleared when the browser session ends.
8. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
Data remains on your device under Chrome’s extension security model. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use the Extension only on a device and browser profile you trust.
10. International users
If you use the Extension outside your home country, your local browser storage and communications with X are still processed on your device and through your connection to X.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
